December 2008 update

Construction Update

The construction of our new church building is now complete - at least the shell!  We must now proceed apace and fit-out the interior of our new home.

Ground-breaking occurred on Saturday morning, July 28, 2007.  Completion of the shell was finalized on Friday, August 1.  It took one full year!

Our church leadership has made the decision to proceed apace, but independent of a professional construction management team.  We are grateful to E. Allen Reeves, Inc. for services rendered.  They have done a fine job.

But financial considerations require us to oversee the remainder of the work.  We are, in a sense, on our own; by the same token, we are never alone, as God is faithful and we are looking to Him for guidance, provision and His purpose.

We will continue to work as needed with Althouse, Jaffe & Associates, Inc.  Architects Jack Althouse and Mike Lehr have designed a beautiful edifice, within which and from which the beauty of our Lord will be manifested in our community.

We have a great deal of work to do and a long way to go!  The entire interior fit-out will cost approximately $1.2 million.  We are game and He is faithful!

Our strategy is to begin with the fit-out of the Fellowship Hall on the main floor.  This is where we plan to worship for the foreseeable future.  Included in this phase are two lavatories, a nursery and church office.

We are looking at the cost of supplies and a skilled volunteer labor pool.  We are asking God to provide all that we need, even as we continue to ask God to cleanse us by the blood of Jesus and fill us with His Spirit.

Please keep us in your prayer.  We ask that you bring us before God's throne of grace.  We want to be vessels of His Spirit, fit for service and ready to apply our new building to His service and glory.
